Overview

The department of Mathematics offers graduate courses leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Mathematics. The department emphasizes both pure and applied mathematics. Research in the department covers algebra, algebraic geometry, number theory, functional analysis, differential geometry, differential equations, combinatorics, topology, biomathematics, statistics, probability, stochastic analysis, and mathematical physics.

Programme structure

In order to earn an M.Sc. degree, all students must fulfill the following requirements:

• The students must complete at least 30 credits of course load including 2 compulsory courses namely Math 521 and Math 531, a graduation project, and a non-credit seminar course.
• A course sequence (Math 504-506, Math 521-522, Math 531-532, Math 533-534, or Math 551-552) must be completed.
