Özgür Müstecaplıoğlu - Introduction to Quantum Programming

Overview

Participants will be first introduced basics of linear algebra and quantum mechanics; after that some typical numerical methods for quantum mechanical problems will be studied: (i) Numerical Solution of Schrödinger Wave Equation in Simple Potentials; (ii) Numerical simulations with examples: Quantum Walk. Second part of the course will expose the participants to quantum circuits and quantum algorithms. Participants will be able to use IBM quantum computer’s via Qiskit quantum programming language; in addition MatLab and Mathematica will be used for examples of quantum algorithms. Interested students will be assigned more challenging quantum algorithm and software exercises as course projects.
